My background is systems programming, not embedded but pretty close to that. I did a lot of C/C++ programming, distributed systems, and OO programming. In the last 6 months I have transitioned into web development. My focus being HTML, CSS, JS/JQuery, PHP, and Python. I have also picked up MongoDB and MySQL. Although it seems like it’s been longer. I am quickly learning the ins and outs of web development.
For 9 years I worked in the DOD Tech & Engineering industry as a software engineer. During that time I worked on a few (3) large distributed systems with proven success and 1 smaller program. Here are 3 of the programs available through the press: Navy Zumwalt Destroyer (I worked on ICC and CNN link with pics), FAA STARS (FAA link and contractor link), and FAB-T ( SpaceNew link ), happy to say that I was part of the them to win the contract; this was my last program before leaving that employer to pursue other opportunities.
My web development portfolio so far is http://jacqueline.io (my personal site) and I wrote a blog about developing it http://jacqueline.io/2014/08/29/redesign-of-jacqueline-io-complete-3-0/.
I have also developed: http://pursuit51labs.com/, http://pursuitidevicerepair.com/ and http://virtuscomm.com/. http://pursuitidevicerepair.com also has a shop using Shopify http://shop.pursuitidevicerepair.com/ . Shopify has some free templates that I am using, but listing the actual products is a product of writing a python script to scrape for inventory and update the Shopify store with products, images, descriptions, and pricing, this is still a work in progress, the final app will be running on a nightly chron job with no interaction from myself, I currently have to shift thru the data and see what I want and don’t want and then I execute the scripts. The script scrapes for inventory and records into a CSV file and updates to a MySQL DB after pushing it to Shopify through the python API to record the results of the push, mainly the product ID for later updates.
I have a personal mobile app project that I am working on. It is using Kendo UI, phonegap, JS, PHP, and mongoDB. This mobile app is also using the USAePay payment gateway (PHP SOAP) for payment processing.
I work great with teams. Love working with teams, and I’m great independently working. I’ve been able to figure out anything, really. I also have a solid programming foundation, which allows to me comprehend and implement rather quickly. When I was working in corporate, I was known to just get it done. If you want to get it done, give it to Jacquie.
I almost forgot about this one too https://github.com/jacquelineflemming/twitter_fun , I wrote this website for fun, but mainly the point is understanding OAuth and using an API. http://jacqueline.io/mgm-twitter-search/
